This sweet t-shirt commemorates Elton John's The Big Picture Tour from the late 90s. Elton John is one of the most prolific musical artists of the 20th century, having profoundly influenced the genre of pop music. He and his longtime songwriting partner, Bernie Taupin, met when they both answered the same ad for a songwriter in the late 60s. Together, they have produced over 30 albums. In addition to his musical career, Elton has done extensive philanthropic work, especially on behalf of the LGBTQ community, of which he is a proud member.
The Big Picture was Elton John's 25th studio album. Some songs included on the album were "Live Like Horses," "Recover Your Soul," and "If the River Can Bend." The song "Something About the Way You Look Tonight" was released as a double A-side single along with "Candle in the Wind 1997" which was a rerecording of the song in honor of the recently deceased Princess Diana, who was a personal friend of John's. That single has since become the number one best-selling single of all time with over 33 million copies sold worldwide. The Big Picture was dedicated to John's friend, Gianni Versace, who had just been murdered shortly before the album's release. The tour ran for over a year between 1997 and 1998. This tee comes from the first leg of the tour that ran for a little over a month before John left for the UK leg of the tour in the winter of 1997.
