This cool tourist tee is a souvenir from the Los Angeles Zoo in California, and it features a fun graphic of panda bears lounging among some bamboo stalks. The LA Zoo was opened in 1966 and it's owned by the city, which means that all of the zoo's workers are city employees. This shirt is from the 80s, when two very special guests were housed at the LA Zoo. Ying Xin and Yun Yun, a pair of giant pandas, were loaned to the zoo by the People's Republic of China in 1984. These new guests were brought in to honor the 1984 Summer Olympics taking place in the city, and tourists waited in line for up to four hours just to catch a glimpse of these visiting animals.
Fits like a modern unisex adult large. There's some light discoloration on the front, see pics.
