This special 70s tee is to advocate for the Equal Rights Amendment. The ERA was first proposed in 1923 and it demands the end to a legal distinction between citizens based on gender in regards to employment, divorce, property and more.

During the 70s when this tee was made, the ERA was a hot topic. In 1972 the Amendment was passed and much of the mid 70s were spent campaigning the last 6 states to ratify the amendment before the deadline in 1979. This tee exhibits the three sections. The Equal Rights Amendment was not passed for the remainder of the 20th century. One hundred years after the first proposal of the amendment, interest in reintroducing it is still high.

Fits like a modern women's Small. There is discoloration on the back of the shirt, see pics.
