This awesome double sided surf tee promotes Gordon & Smith Surfboards, a brand that was created by surfers and friends Larry Gordon and Floyd Smith. The two met during the burgeoning surf scene of the 1950s, when most boards were still being shaped from heavy and unwieldy balsa wood. With the help of Gordon's chemistry knowledge and his father's plastics business, the pair was able to start making their own line of foam boards, and by the 1960s they had become one of the leading manufacturers of the surf industry.

This shirt was made in the 70s, after the company successfully survived the introduction of the shortboard. It was also during this decade that Gordon & Smith expanded their influence into the skate market as well. During this period, the California-based company became one of the largest manufacturers for both surfers and skaters.
