This vintage tee was custom made in the 70s. This shirt is a delightfully soft rib knit tee from the brand BVD, and it's been hand painted with the logo of a local electronics business that used to operate in Cleveland, Ohio. Morantz Electronics used to sell a variety of electronics parts and accessories, and this tee has been lovingly adorned with their logo.

Back in the 70s, the graphic tee industry was still growing rapidly. The invention of things like Plastisol ink for screen printing and iron on decals, made it easier than ever to reproduce images on apparel. However, not everyone had access to these new technologies. While major companies like Disney were mass producing professionally printed tees, smaller businesses still had to rely on old tricks. This shirt is much more reminiscent of the hand printed shirts that servicemen used to create in the 50s and 60s, using nothing but paint and stencils.
