This sweet shirt was made for anyone that enjoys a little beer and boating on the river. The shirt reads, "River Rat" and has a graphic of a rambunctious cartoon rat, driving a speedboat and enjoying a mug of beer. The bulging eyes and lolling tongue featured on the character are a great example of 70s cartoon aesthetics.

When this shirt was made back in the 70s, many t-shirt printer took their artistic inspiration from underground comix cartoonists and hot rod magazine illustrations. This graphic shows a definite influence from the work of Kustom Kulture icon, Ed "Big Daddy" Roth, who was the creator of the well-known hot rod character, Rat Fink.
