This sweet topstitched jersey is a souvenir celebrating the Brookfield Zoo Chicago, which is located just outside the city in Brookfield, Illinois. As the largest zoo in the Chicago metropolitan area, Brookfield houses more than 500 species of animals across more than 200 acres of land. Most people recognize the zoo for being the first in the country to exhibit giant pandas. They were also the first in the US to open a fully indoor bottlenose dolphin exhibit.

This tee however, highlights another of their many animal residents, the okapi. This relative of the giraffe is often recognized for the stripes adorning its legs, which resemble those of a zebra. These gentle creatures can be found in the Habitat Africa: The Forest exhibit at the zoo.
