This sweet double-sided shirt pays tribute to the legendary jam band the Grateful Dead, and it does so by spoofing the California-based surfwear company, Maui and Sons. The front features a parody of the Maui and Sons logo that claims, "dead boys have more fun". Meanwhile the back has an awesome graphic of a surfing skeleton, and it also includes the Grateful Dead lyrics, "I need a miracle everyday" and a quote from the well-known Deadhead Hunter S. Thompson that says, "When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro".
Originally formed in 1965, the Grateful Dead gained prominence amidst the counter cultural movement of the 1960s. Largely credited as the godfathers of the jam band world, the Grateful Dead became known for their extensive touring and improvisational live performances. This shirt was made in the 80s, and by that point the band had gained an impressive following of loyal fans that traveled with them from city to city.
Fits like a modern unisex adult medium. There is a small hole on the front, see pics.
