This awesome tee is a keepsake from The Grand Kabuki Theater's tour of North America in 1985. The world-renowned theater troupe traveled to three US cities in 1985, to showcase the storied tradition of Japanese Kabuki theater. This shirt honors the troupe's stop in Los Angeles, where they performed at Royce Hall. With 40 actors and 22 musicians featured, this was the largest Grand Kabuki performance to be shown outside of Japan, to date. Performances were divided into two evenings, and included a grand total of six Kabuki pieces. The North American tour also featured an impressive collection of talent, which included Living National Treasure, Onoe Shoroku II.
