This sweet tank top commemorates San Francisco Pride in 1998. It features a rainbow graphic resembling seismic waves and the slogan "Shakin' It Up!" likely as a reference to San Francisco's many earthquakes. San Francisco hosts one of the oldest pride celebrations in the country, with a rich history that dates back to 1970, the year after the Stonewall Riots.
Earlier iterations of the event were held under the name Gay Freedom Day and International Lesbian & Gay Freedom Day, but the title changed over time to accommodate a wider range of LGBT identities until it was eventually just called Pride. Since its inception, the centerpiece of the event has been the parade which marches along Market Street. Many different contingents participate in the parade, including groups like Dykes on Bikes, the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, PFLAG, and the city's local leather contingent.
