This sweet vintage band t-shirt is for the American thrash metal group Slayer. The shirt was made in the 90s but its graphics celebrate the band's second studio album Hell Awaits, which was released in 1985 by Metal Blade Records. The record's producer, Brian Slagel demanded a second album from the group after their debut, Show No Mercy, became Metal Blade's highest-selling release.

Hell Awaits has been cited as having a significant influence on future "extreme metal acts". The lyrical themes of the album center around hell and Satan, and just like the band's fist record, a hidden message can be found if you play the intro to the title track backwards. In order to promote the album, the band embarked on a tour with fellow thrash metal band Exodus and black metal pioneers Venom. This was the first time that the group had embarked on a larger scale tour involving an actual tour bus. Their first national tour was executed by traveling in lead singer Tom Araya's camero with an attached U-Haul trailer.

The success of Hell Awaits helped Slayer to expand to greater opportunities. They were later signed to the largely hip hop based label Def Jam Records. With a major label recording budget the band released their next album Reign in Blood, and it became their first to enter the Billboard 200.

Fits like a modern unisex adult over-sized Extra Large. There is a repair on the front, see pics.
