This amazing double-sided tee pays tribute to the iconic Todd McFarlane character, Spawn. The celebrated anti-hero was introduced in 1992 in Spawn #1 from Image Comics. McFarlane's reputation and his previous work on Spider-Man led to the comic being an instant hit, and its first issue sold more than 1.7 million copies.

This shirt is copyright 1997, and that spring Spawn reigned as the top selling comic book thanks to the pre-release publicity that was stirred up in anticipation of the comic's live action film adaptation. The movie starred Michael Jai White as the titular character, opposite John Leguizamo as the Violator. While the movie only managed to be a mild commercial success, Spawn remained a favorite among comic book fans, and during this time the spin-off series, Curse of Spawn also became one of the top ranked comics according to Wizard magazine. This shirt features double-sided graphics of Spawn having his heart ripped out by the Violator, a feat which occurred during their face off in Spawn #4.
