This incredible tee features a portrait of the legendary guitarist Frank Zappa. The starkly contrasted portrait resembles an image that was used for the cover of the 1967 album, Absolutely Free from the band The Mothers of Invention. Zappa was a founding member of the band who provided guitar, vocals, and percussion throughout the 60s and 70s. He also doubled as the producer for nearly all of their albums. Absolutely Free was one several critically acclaimed records from the band, that combined complex musical compositions with humorous political and social satire.
Frank Zappa was a primarily self-taught musician, who released more than 60 albums over the course of his career. Considered both brilliant and controversial, Zappa's music was often characterized by improvisation, non-conformity, and a satirical view of American culture. He was a vocal libertarian whose views were often evident within his art, however he expressed many of his ideas through humor, which led some critics to dub him the "godfather of comedy rock".
Zappa passed away of cancer in December of 1993, but his musical legacy has endured for many years. He was posthumously inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995, and many artists, ranging from Alice Cooper to System of a Down to Weird Al Yankovic, have all cited Zappa as a musical influence.
Fits like a modern unisex adult small. There's small repairs near the collar, see pics.
