This super soft vintage band tee dates back to the 80s, and it commemorates the release of Aerosmith's seventh studio album, Rock in a Hard Place. Aerosmith was first founded in Boston in 1970, and they spent the first decade of their career gaining a significant following with hits like "Dream On", "Walk This Way", and "Sweet Emotion". However, the band experienced a lull in popularity during the early 80s, due to drug addiction and conflicts within the group.
Rock in a Hard Place was the only album not to feature founding guitarist Joe Perry, and compared to previous releases like Toys in the Attic and Rocks, the album was considered a commercial disappointment. Still the record made it to number 32 on the Billboard 200 and it spawned the popular single "Lightning Strikes". Aerosmith didn't stay in a rut for very long though. The band was able to release another major hit before the end of the decade, Permanent Vacation, which was followed by three more multi-platinum albums, Pump, Get a Grip, and Nine Lives.
