This cool shirt features the Columbia STS-1 Space Shuttle which was the first orbital spaceflight of NASA's Space Shuttle program. The orbiter was launched on April 12th 1981 and came back down on April 14th. The shuttle orbited the earth 37 times in 54 hours. The launch occurred on the 20th Anniversary of Vostok 1 which was the first human spaceflight although it was on mistake since they meant to launch two days prior. The Johnson Space Center in Houston was the flight control center for the mission and where we get the phrase "Houston we have a problem."
