This sweet shirt comes from the 1982 Mardi Gras celebration in New Orleans and it was made for one of the city's super krewes, the Krewe of Bacchus. Named for the Roman god of wine, the group was founded in 1968, and they famously became the first New Orleans carnival krewe to employ the use of celebrities. Over the years their floats have featured stars like William Shatner, Jackie Gleason, Bob Hope, Henry Winkler, Jon Lovitz, Sean Astin, Michael Keaton, and Val Kilmer. For 1982, the Krewe of Bacchus' parade theme was American Heroes & Heroines, and this shirt features a stunning illustration by Danny Frolich.
