This incredible tee celebrates the creation of a historic program at Stanford University in California. It pays homage to the school's Program in Feminist Studies, which later expanded to become a Program in Feminist, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. In February of 1981, Feminist Studies was approved as a formal program at the school, and a few months later they would announce the creation of a Feminist Studies major. Although other schools like San Diego State College had already established programs in Women's Studies, Stanford became the first college to describe their program with the word "feminist".

The program's creation was largely thanks to the impact of second-wave feminism, which had swept the nation during the 1970s. During this time, there was a focus on issues like reproductive rights and workplace inequalities, and the women's liberation movement emerged. The movement brought attention to both formal and informal instances of sex-based discrimination, and it proved how important it was for institutions like Stanford to start investing in feminist teachings.

Fits like a modern unisex adult medium. This shirt is faded with some wear along the seams and a repair in the underarm, see pics.
