This awesome tie dye tee is a souvenir from the National Air and Space Museum of the Smithsonian Institution in Washington D.C., and the shirt pays tribute to the first manned lunar landing. The moon landing was accomplished by the Apollo 11 crew when Neil Armstrong and Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin landed the Eagle Lunar Module on July 20th, 1969. This was a momentous occasion, and people around the world watched a live broadcast as Armstrong became the first man to step foot on the lunar surface.
The Apollo 11 mission is just one of many showcased at NASM, and the Columbia command module is displayed prominently at the museum. Columbia housed Armstrong, Aldrin, and Michael Collins during their trip to the moon, and it was the only spacecraft to return to Earth after the mission.
