This amazing vintage shirt is for the iconic hip hop group N.W.A. Born out of Compton in the late 80s, N.W.A. is remembered for being one of the most influential forces in the developing gangsta rap genre. This vintage tee highlights the group's second and final studio album together, Niggaz4Life, which is often also stylized as Efile4zaggin.

At this point in time, the group was a quartet that consisted of Dr. Dre, Eazy-E, MC Ren, and DJ Yella, as Arabian Prince and Ice Cube had both departed a few years earlier. While the album received flack for its profanity and sexist themes, it also made history as the first independently distributed album to reach the top of the Billboard chart. It was also the first album produced by a hardcore rap group to reach number one, which demonstrated the sheer immensity of N.W.A.'s influence and popularity.

N.W.A. dissolved not long after Niggaz4Life was released, and the group's end was largely prompted by the departure of Dr. Dre and frequent collaborator The D.O.C., who left to form their label Death Row Records. Despite the group's short tenure together, their musical impact was undeniable. Despite many mainstream radio stations refusing to play their music because of its explicit and controversial themes, N.W.A. was still able to sell millions of records in just the US alone. They were also one of the first to popularize the use of political lyrics in the rap genre. One notable example of this was their iconic hit, "Fuck tha Police". Not only did the song highlight the racism experienced by black youth, but the group's immense popularity helped to also bring these issues to the attention of their white listeners.
