This cool promotional tee is for the 1995 science fiction film, Congo. The movie starred Laura Linney, Dylan Walsh, Grant Heslov, and Joe Don Baker, as well as beloved cult classic actors Ernie Hudson and Tim Curry. The movie centered around a rescue team sent to the African Congo to investigate the disappearance of several corporation employees. One of the members of the team includes a primatologist and his mountain gorilla, Amy, who has been taught to communicate through sign language.

Amy was portrayed by stunt actress Misty Rosas, using a fully articulated creature suit crafted by the Stan Winston Studio. Winston's studio had also worked on Jurassic Park, a blockbuster hit based on a novel by Michael Crichton, the same author to write the novel that Congo was based on.
