This sweet vintage band tee is for English electronic rock band Depeche Mode. The band produced their debut album in 1981 titled Speak & Spell, although they were originally formed in 1977 as No Romance in China. They switched the name after being influenced by the title of a French fashion magazine. Influences for the band's sound included Siouxie and the Banshees, Talking Heads, and Iggy Pop, and frontman, Dave Gahan claims to have based his onstage persona off of Dave Vanian from the Damned.
This shirt comes from their 1993 Devotional Tour, which was launched to promote their album Songs of Faith and Devotion. The tour included members Dave Gahan, Martin Gore, Alan Wilder, and Andy Fletcher and kicked off in Lille, France. The band toured Europe before coming to North America, and then returning to Europe to appear in the United Kingdom. The setlist included hits such as "Higher Love", "Stripped", "I Feel You", "Judas", and "Personal Jesus".
