This sweet shirt is from the incredibly popular Japanese anime series, Dragon Ball Z. This shirt is copyright 1999, when the franchise was arguably at its commercial peak in the US. The third season of the series, dubbed by Funimation, managed to be Cartoon Network's highest rated program of the year in 1999. This shirt showcases some of the show's most powerful and prominent characters including Goku, Trunks, Vegeta, Piccolo Gohan, Krillin, and Tien Shinhan.

Dragon Ball Z is an exciting action adventure series in which many of the main characters are of a race of aliens known as Saiyans, and this shirt depicts each of the Saiyan characters in their high-powered Super Seiyan mode. The main protagonist, Goku, is loosely based on the Chinese folk hero Sun Wukong from Journey to the West, and the show also drew a lot of inspiration from the martial arts movies of stars like Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan.
