This amazing deadstock tee celebrates the release of the 1994 album The Downward Spiral, from Nine Inch Nails. Fronted by the Academy Award winning musician, Trent Reznor, NIN was first conceived in Cleveland, Ohio during the late 80s. The Downward Spiral was the second studio album released by the group, and it was a concept album depicting the mental and emotional breakdown of a man who eventually reaches his suicidal breaking point. The album wound up being a massive commercial success that established NIN as a musical force to be reckoned with.

Misanthropic, alternative rock fans were enthralled by the band's dark themes and abrasive industrial sound. Downward Spiral spawned a number of notable singles, which included "March of Pigs", "Piggy", "Hurt", and what is arguably the band's best known song, "Closer". This t-shirt features the painting that was used for the album's cover, titled "Wound", which was created by the British artist Russell Mills.

NIN toured in support of Downward Spiral, presenting chaotic shows during which the band would come out in ragged clothes covered in corn starch and perform violent stunts. During this time they also performed at Woodstock '94, which was broadcast on pay-per-view. This broadcast helped the group to gain significant mainstream success, and they even earned a Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance thanks to their Woodstock rendition of "Happiness in Slavery".
