This awesome tee was made to rep for Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers. This family band was made up of four of Bob Marley's children: Ziggy, Sharon, Cedella and Stephen. The legendary reggae star had wanted the four children that he had raised with Rita Marley to perform as a band, but it was only after the tragic death of their father that the family started taking the band more seriously. The group eventually achieved mainstream success thanks to their 1988 studio release Conscious Party, which is often remembered for the hits "Tumblin' Down" and "Tomorrow People".
This shirt was made in the 90s, and by that point the band had grown recognizable to not only adults, but many children across the country. This was thanks to appearances on Sesame Street, Family Matters and the soundtrack to the movie Muppet Treasure Island. In 1996, Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers also recorded the theme song for the beloved PBS kids show Arthur.
