This vintage tee is an incredible piece of military history from all the way back in the 40s. This shirt was made during a time when graphic tees were rarely seen outside of the military. In the 1940s, t-shirts in general were typically only worn as undergarments or athletic wear, which meant they were part of standard issue uniforms for the United States military. Soldiers would receive plain white tees, that they would later decorate on their own time, and it gradually became common practice for them to emblazon their shirts with stenciled logos that denoted the units, bases, or ships they were deployed to.
This shirt was made for a marine serving at the El Toro Marine Air Base in California, and it features the USMC's eagle, globe, and anchor emblem. El Toro was first opened during World War II, and it quickly became responsible for handling the majority of the tactical aerodrome traffic on the West Coast.
Fits like a modern unisex adult small. This shirt is soft, thin, and distressed with several holes, see pics.
