This vintage tee is a souvenir from the Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico. The shirt says "Philmont '86" above a graphic of the ranch's buffalo mascot and it also specifies it was from an excursion with the Greater Niagara Frontier Council. Philmont is the largest youth camp in the world by land area, and it was first owned by Waite Phillips, who had a deep fondness for the Boys Scouts of America program. He initially would invite the scouts to use his land for wilderness excursions, and later donated 40% of it to the BSA for continued use. The Greater Niagara Frontier Council was based out of Buffalo New York, before it merged with the Iroquois Trail Council to form the Western New York Council.
