This awesome double-sided concert tee proudly says, "I saw Styx at the Paradise Theater". The shirt was made during the band's 1981 World Tour, and it commemorates a show played at the historic Paradise Theater movie palace, found in the band's hometown of Chicago, Illinois. The Paradise Theater wasn't just a landmark from the group's hometown however, it was also the namesake of their tenth studio album. This concept album told a fictional account of the theater's history, and it became Styx's most commercially successful album, peaking at the number one spot on the Billboard 200 for three weeks.
The album produced four singles, including the top ten hits, "The Best of Times", "Rockin' the Paradise", and "Too Much Time on My Hands". The album's subsequent promotional tour was an ambitious project that became one of the top-grossing tours of 1981. The show involved various movie elements to pay homage to the theater, and sets even ended with traditional movie credits. This tour sparked a new tradition for the band, as they would continue to open all of their live shows with the song "Rockin' the Paradise".
