This awesome vintage concert tee is for the band Judas Priest from the Painkiller World Tour back in 1990. Painkiller was the last album to feature long-time lead vocalist Rob Halford, until his eventual return in 2005 on the album Angel of Retribution. It was also the first release to include the band's new drummer Scott Travis.
Painkiller wound up coinciding with the subliminal message trial that the band was slammed with in the summer of 1990. The trial accused the band of embedding a hidden message in their cover of the 1969 Spooky Tooth song "Better by You, Better than Me" which eventually led to the suicide of two troubled young men. These claims wound up being dismissed by the judge, but the trial did manage to push back the release of the album by several months.
Judas Priest is often considered one of the greatest heavy metal bands of all time, with over 50 million records sold. They gained mainstream success with their 1980 album British Steel, and Painkiller was released just before the end of their commercial peak.
Fits like a modern unisex adult large. This shirt is distressed with lots of holes, see pics.
