This awesome tee is a piece of original merch from Metallica's 2003 Summer Sanitarium Tour. This was the second edition of the tour, which was first held by the heavy metal band in 2000. Supporting acts on this tour included Limp Bitzkit, Linkin Park, Deftones, and Mudvayne. This shirt features some sweet graphics from the artist Tony Squindo, who became one of Metallica's go-to illustrators.

A little less than a month before the start of the tour Metallica released their eighth studio album, St. Anger, and the record debuted at the top of the Billboard 200. This proved that Metallica was still just as popular as they'd been during their early days in the 80s. Meanwhile the supporting bands were all near the forefront of the emerging nu metal genre. Limp Bizkit released their album Results May Vary shortly after the tour, while Linkin Park had just dropped their highly anticipated second album, Meteora. Deftones dropped their eponymous fourth album in 2003, and it had been less than a year since Mudvayne had released their second album The End of All Things to Come.

Fits like a modern unisex adult extra large. There are paint spots on the back, see pics
