This awesome graphic tee honors the memory of Tito Puente, an American musician and band leader of Puerto Rican descent. Puente was known for his mambo and Latin jazz music and for bringing this genre into the mainstream. The 1950s were the height of his career and the decade saw the release of his most popular album Dance Mania, which was added to the National Recording Registry after his death. It's also been included in the book 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die. His most well known song, "Oye como va" was popularized by guitarist Carlos Santana and was later covered by Julio Iglesias, Celia Cruz, and many other artists.

Tito Puente left behind an immense legacy. His career spanned half a century and, at the time of his death, he had released 117 albums. He was inducted into the International Jazz Hall of Fame and also made a recipient of the Smithsonian National Museum Medal of Honor and Lifetime Achievement Award. This tee most likely came from a concert given in memory of him after his passing. Several concerts were given shortly after his death in the summer of 2000, many of which included members of his orchestra playing his most well-known songs.
