This awesome vintage hockey jersey recreates the jerseys worn by the Canada men's national hockey team in 1977. The jersey also reps #9, which at the time was worn by Wilfrid Paiement, who played for both the national team and in the NHL. The most successful national hockey team in the world, Canada took 4th place in the 1977 Ice Hockey World Championships. It was a close tournament as well, with placements being decided by just a few points. In fact Canada actually defeated the eventual champions, Czechoslovakia 8-2 before Sweden's victory against the Soviet Union pushed them to fourth place.
Paiement, helped the Canadian team to earn third place the following year, as well another 4th place in 1979. He was also a member of the NHL All-Star team from 1976 to 1978, representing the Kansas City Scouts and then the Colorado Rockies.
Fits like a modern unisex adult Extra Large. This shirt has spots, holes, and repairs, see pics.
