This cool double-sided tee pays tribute to the Hawaii of yesteryear. This shirt highlights part of Hawaii's rich history, and more specifically it brings attention to the Mauna Loa eruption circa 1881. Located on the Big Island, Mauna Loa reigns as the world's largest active volcano. On November 5th, 1880 the volcano began an eruption that would last for nearly nine months. Residents of the nearby town of Hilo worried that the lava flows would destroy their homes and property, but the flows eventually stopped in August of 1881, after Princess Ke'elikolani made offerings to the goddess Pele.
