This cool vintage shirt pays tribute to the historic Negro National League and it features a graphic highlighting several of the league's professional teams including the Philadelphia Stars, Baltimore Black Sox, Kansas City Monarchs, Washington Senators, and Newark Eagles. The Negro National League was founded by Rube Foster in 1920, before the baseball color line was dissolved. Foster established the league for talented African American baseball players that were barred from participating in the MLB. He also served as the owner and manager of one of the teams, the Chicago American Giants. Negro leagues in general eventually deteriorated after integration, which began in 1945 when Jackie Robinson was signed to play for the Brooklyn Dodgers.
