This incredible tee pays tribute to the iconic graphic novel Ghost World, created by Daniel Clowes. This darkly humorous tale of American adolescence was first serialized in Clowes' comic book series, Eightball, which was published by Fantagraphics Books. Fantagraphics later published the story as a full book in 1997. Ghost World centered around two teenage cynics, best friends Enid Coleslaw and Rebecca Doppelmeyer, and it depicted the girls' deteriorating friendship during the summer after their high school graduation.

Ghost World gained acclaim for its stark and realistic depiction of growing up, and it gained significant notoriety thanks to a film adaptation of the same name. The movie starred Thora Birch and Scarlett Johansson as Enid and Rebecca respectively, and it also featured the talented Steve Buscemi. Both the comic and the movie became beloved cult classics, and the film is often ranked among the greatest comic book movies of all time. Ghost World is often considered to be Clowes' breakthrough work, but the cartoonist did go on to publish many more successful graphic novels, including David Boring and Patience.
