This amazing tee is for the hilarious horror comedy Gremlins 2: The New Batch, which was the sequel to the 1984 film Gremlins. The movie saw Joe Dante return to the director's chair, and it featured a number of comical creature designs from special effects icon, Rick Baker. Gremlins 2 also featured Zach Gilligan and Phoebe Cates reprising their roles from the original, alongside new cast members like John Glover, Robert Picardo, Haviland Morris, and Christopher Lee.

In the movie, Galligan's Billy Peltzer is reunited with his former pet, Gizmo, and the pair must battle a new crop of mischievous gremlins, who take over a high tech New York skyscraper. Within the skyscraper, the gremlins wreak havoc in a genetic engineering lab, which results in new outlandish varieties of the monsters. One of the altered gremlins gains heightened intelligence, and this tee gives a nod to a scene in which the smart gremlin appears on a talk show hosted by one of the trapped skyscraper employees.

This tee also parodies late night television of the 80s and 90s, with the smart gremlin sitting on set similar to the one used for The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, and interviewing three of the other featured gremlins: Greta, Lenny, and George. Funnily enough, the smart gremlin was voiced by the late great star of The Odd Couple, Tony Randall, who was a frequent Tonight Show guest, appearing more than 100 times on the program.
