The Eagle Hook and Ladder Company was established in 1868, just a year before the California town of San Juan Bautista was incorporated. This volunteer fire department and San Juan Bautistia's city hall maintained close ties since the beginning. In 2019, San Juan Bautista celebrated its 150th anniversary.
