This sweet short sleeve sweatshirt pays homage to the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower, a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier that was commissioned by the US Navy in 1977. The second carrier of the Nimitz-class, it was constructed at Newport News Shipbuilding Company in Virginia. Ike sailed her first deployment in 1979 to the Mediterranean Sea, and a year later she was dispatched to the Indian Ocean in response to the Iran hostage crisis.
