This double-sided t-shirt is a souvenir from Paul Young's Nine Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest Tour which was launched in 1987. Paul Young first gained significant attention in the 80s as a teen idol and pop rock singer. He was signed to Columbia Records in 1982 and released his debut solo album, No Parlez, the following year. Young's Nine Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest Tour kicked off the year after he released his third solo album, Between Two Fires. The record reached the number four spot on the UK Albums Chart, and it featured three singles: "Wonderland", "Some People", and "Why Does a Man Have to Be Strong".

During 1987, Young also toured with Genesis, and served as the opening act for their Invisible Touch Tour. During these performances he played some of his biggest hits, such as "Everything Must Change", "I'm Gonna Tear Your Playhouse Down", and "Everytime You Go Away".
