This super soft tee was made to promote the cigarette manufacturer Camel. The graphic on this tee showcases the company's former mascot, Joe Camel. The Camel brand is the oldest in the United States, and though Joe Camel was only advertised briefly, the character had a lasting impact.

The Camel theme was chosen because the company uses Turkish Tobacco. This tee depicts the original advertisement that Joe Camel debuted in, which was a French ad from 1974. At the end of the 90s, research suggested that Joe Camel appealed too much to children, which led the company to stop using their popular mascot. After Camel stopped using the Joe Camel image, interest increased in the now outdated memorabilia.
