The album went on to be certified diamond by the RIAA, making it Journey's most successful studio album.
After Escape's release, the group went on a lengthy but highly successful tour supported by Billy Squier, Greg Kihn Band, Point Blank, and Loverboy. They also did a show where they opened for the Rolling Stones. After the tour, the band recorded two songs for the 1982 Disney film Tron, "Only Solutions" and "1990s Theme". They then entered the studio again to record their next album Frontiers, which was released in 1982. This album featured several more hit songs which included "Separate Ways (World's Apart)", "Faithfully", "Send Her My Love", and "After the Fall".
