This super sick vintage 70s tee features a can of Olympia Beer converted into a hot rod, with the text, "Powered by Oly." Olympia Brewing Company was founded in Turnwater, Washington in the late 1800s, close to Olympia. The beer came a popular brand regionally in the Pacific Northwest.
Olympia Beer was advertised with the slogan, "Its the Water," as it was brewed with water from artesian wells. Other notable advertising featured famous daredevil Evel Knievel. This shirt's graphic connotes the power of Olympia beer can fuel the likes of a hot rod.
Between the 70s and early 80s, the company's revenue was suffering, and it was purchased by the G. Heilerman Brewing Co, which was later bought by Stroh Brewing Co, like many regional brewing companies.
Fits like a modern unisex adult large. It has one small hole and several small spots, see pics. Graphic is amazing!
