This awesome tee celebrates the track and field events at the Los Angeles Olympics of 1984. For LA84, the track and field competition took place at the Coliseum. This was not the first time that the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum was used for the Summer running events. In 1932 the games were also held at the Coliseum. The day before the LA84 competition began the multi-purpose arena was declared a National Historic Landmark.

The American team wound up dominating the competition with a total of 40 medals. They earned 29 more medals than the second ranked team of West Germany, and 24 more than the third place team, Great Britain. One of the USA medals was won by Joan Benoit, who placed first during the Olympics' first ever women's marathon.
