This super rare Iron Maiden tee is an original keepsake from the band's 1987 Somewhere on Tour concert tour. The shirt features double-sided graphics of the band's skeletal mascot Eddie. The front shows a cyborg-enhanced Eddie created by the artist Derek Riggs while the back declares "Eddie Lives".

Somewhere on Tour took the band across the globe to perform their most ambitious spectacle to date. The show required an estimated 180.000 watts of power, and the lighting rig alone held over 1100 lamps, which hung over a futuristic set that featured flying spaceships, lasers, inflatable props, hydraulic stands, and pyrotechnics.

Somewhere on Tour was launched to promote the release of the group's 1986 platinum album Somewhere in Time. Although several songs off the album all center around the theme of space and time such as "Wasted Years", "Caught Somewhere in Time", "Deja-Vu", and "Stranger in a Strange Land", it was the not the band's intention to create a concept album. Work on the album began four months after the completion of their extensive World Slavery Tour, which had left the band both physically and creatively exhausted. During the short period of recuperation after the tour, Adrian Smith, Steve Harris, and Dave Murray started experimenting with new equipment and eventually developed a new sound for the band, which utilized guitar synthesizers.

The experimentation evident on Somewhere in Time was present in the next album as well, Seventh Son of a Seventh Son. This concept album was the first of the band's to include keyboards performed by both Harris and Smith. After the album's release, Iron Maiden was invited to headline the Monsters of Rock Festival in Europe for the first time and they played alongside groups like Kiss, Megadeth, Guns N' Roses, and David Lee Roth.
