This awesome shirt celebrates the original Star Tours ride that was once featured at Disney theme parks. More specifically, this shirt honors the very first Star Tours, that opened in Disneyland in 1987. At the time of its debut, Stars Wars wasn't owned by the Walt Disney Company, making Star Tours the park's first attraction to be based on a non-Disney licensed property. Initially plans were to create a motion simulator ride based off the Disney film The Black Hole. When the movie wound up being a flop, Disney shelved the ride concept for some time, before they had the brilliant idea to utilize their partnership with George Lucas.

The original Star Tours was a ride simulator that took guests on an epic adventure across the Star Wars universe. Throughout the ride, guests encounter Imperial Star Destroyers, X-wing fighters, and even the Death Star III, all while they're piloted by a bumbling droid voiced by Paul Reubens, the actor best remembered as Pee-Wee Herman. The first-person perspective film that was used for the ride was created by Lucas and the team at Industrial Light & Magic, making guests really feel as if they were in an actual Star Wars movie.
