This awesome double sided tee commemorates the B-52s' Meso-America Tour from 1982. From 1978 to 1980 the iconic new wave group toured extensively with material from their first two albums, The B-52's and Wild Planet. By 1981, they were struggling to create new material but Warner Bros was pressuring them to release another album, thus they returned to the studio in Fall of that year. The band joined forces with Talking Heads' David Byrne to record what was supposed to become their third studio album. Sadly Byrne's vision as a producer clashed with the band's, and the creative differences, as well as several other issues, led to the recording sessions being canceled. However, they didn't completely go to waste, as they resulted in a six song EP titled Mesopotamia.

Mesopotamia got the band back on the road, and they felt reinvigorated now that they finally had new material to perform live. They also used the Meso-America Tour as an opportunity to play updated versions of their old hits. The tour also connected the B-52s with the Bongos, who opened for the group for the majority of their tour. The two bands formed a friendship that would lead to various future collaborations, particularly between Fred Schneider and the Bongos' frontman, Richard Barone.

The tag says large but this shirt fits like a modern unisex adult medium
