This cool concert pays tribute to the band Living Colour and their 1988 Tour for their debut album, Vivid. Released by Epic Records, the album wound up peaking at the number six spot on the Billboard 200 and it went certified double platinum. Vivid drew inspiration from a wide range of genres and incorporated elements of funk, punk, heavy metal, rap, and soul. It also spawned five singles, which included "Middle Man", "Glamour Boys", "Open Letter (To a Landlord)", "Funny Vibe", and arguably the band's most iconic hit "Cult of Personality".
"Cult of Personality" ended up winning the 1990 Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Performance, and Living Colour was also named Best New Artist at the 1989 MTV Video Music Awards. After the release of Vivid, the band was invited to tour as an opening act for the Rolling Stones on their Steel Wheels/Urban Jungle Tour. Living Colour later released their follow up album Time's Up, and it earned the group another Grammy for Best Hard Rock Performance.
