This awesome vintage concert tee is from a show played by the Ramones at Temple University in Philadelphia. The concert was for the college's 1986 Spring Fling and it saw the Ramones jamming out in the school's McGonigle Hall along with opening bands Trouble Funk and the Young Rumblers. Witnesses to the show say that it was a party worthy of the likes of Rock 'n' Roll High School, and by the Ramones' third song, which was their iconic hit "Blitzkrieg Bop", the number of security officers on the stage outnumbered the Ramones themselves. Despite Campus security stepping in to prevent the students from rushing the stage, the party raged on.  

The Ramones were first conceived in the neighborhood of Forest Hills, Queens in 1974 and they are often credited as being the first true punk rock group. The band quickly made a splash among the New York music scene. They made their CBGB debut during the summer of 1974, appearing in black leather jackets and unleashing a barrage of sound onto the audience. They quickly became club regulars and by 1975 they had signed a deal with Sire Records. Their early music, although praised by rock critics, had little commercial success but their influence on rock history has since been recognized.

During 1986 the Ramones lineup consisted of mainstays Joey Ramone, Johnny Ramone, and Dee Dee Ramone, with Richie Ramone on the drums. The group's most recent release at the time was the British single "Bonzo Goes to Bitburg", a commentary on the Bittburg controversy that happened in 1985 when Ronald Reagan visisted a German World War II cemetary where several Waffen-SS soldiers were buried. The song received no American release, but it did become a hit on the US college radio scene.
