This awesome tee is an original Misfits shirt from the 1980s. This shirt features the band's infamous logo the Crimson Ghost, which was inspired by a 1946 film serial. The Misfits weren't active for the majority of the 1980s, but it was during this decade that they gained a significant following thanks to reissued and previously unreleased material.
The New Jersey based band initially dissolved in 1983. After that, former lead singer Glenn Danzig began to grow a steady following with the groups Samhain and Danzig. As Danzig's popularity increased, fans became interested in his past projects, which was what inspired the singer to release the compilation album Legacy of Brutality. This compilation notably featured many of the songs from their unreleased debut, Static Age, including the tracks "Last Caress", "Hybrid Moments", "Attitude", and "Teenagers from Mars".
While Legacy of Brutality introduced the band to a new wave of fans, it also led to a series of legal battles between Danzig and his former bandmates Jerry Only and Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein. In the end it was really the fans who lucked out, as a settlement was reached that allowed both old and new Misfits material to continue being released.
Fits like a modern unisex adult medium. There's some light discoloration throughout, see pics.
