Specifically this tee is for the rowing events that took place on Lake Casitas in Ventura County, California. The Olympics of '84 were unique for many reasons, one of them being a boycott from several Eastern Bloc countries. The absence of the Eastern Bloc and their strong rowing teams, gave other countries an opportunity for victory. However, Romania still opted to participate and wound up winning most of the events, taking home 6 gold medals and 2 silver.
