This sweet shirt reps the professional hockey team the Quebec Nordiques. The team initially was founded as a member of the World Hockey Association before they moved to the NHL in 1979. From there the Nordiques continued playing their home games at the Colisee de Quebec in Quebec City, right up until the end of the 1994-1995 season. After that, the team was relocated to Denver, Colorado and renamed the Colorado Avalanche. Although the Nordiques never secured a Stanley Cup victory, the Avalanche won the championship during their first post-move season.
